Tomorrow my friend Steph is competing in the ABAA’s sponge and brush body paint category. The event happens from 11am to 5pm followed by the model’s performance show and Awards ceremony at 7:30 pm at Arrow on Swanston in Carlton (488 Swanston St.).
I will also be lending my body to her as a canvas. Come down and check out some extremely talented artists.

At the start of the year I made the pact with myself that I would do more than talk about doing things. I have always been that person who says I’m going to do this, and this, etc and never does anything.

I have made the effort so far this year to do a few things I have talked about for years or wanted to do and haven’t gotten around to.

modelling for a friend in a few weeks at the Australian Body Art Awards. Stripping down and getting my body painted for art’s sake is exciting and definitely pushing me well out of my comfort zone. I am super excited about it. I’ve been wanting to get back into performing and find out if it really is something I am still wanting to make an effort in. Part of the competition as a model is a 2-3 minute performance to a piece of music. I am looking forward to creating something and doing something I have never done before.

Secondly I will be getting behind the decks and playing my own DJ set. Sure it is at a doof that we are hosting, and I will just be playing for friends, but well, one has to start somewhere and find out if it really is something I want to do. I’m excited about getting to drop some tracks and hopefully ignite some interest in different tunes for some peeps.

I’m currently working on some mixes and giving mashup tracks a go. See if I can do it well or not.

Life is nothing without challenges. I’m about creating as many of them for myself as I possibly can.
